Reading List Week 10
Hello Reader,
Hope you're doing fine. Here's the reading list for this week.
Recently China has been cracking down on its tech Industry. If you are also curious about why this is happening, then the following three articles may help you to get a head start.
Why is China smashing its tech industry? In this post, Noah Smith sees the crackdown as China's strategy to attain Geopolitical Domination. He argues that China is cracking down on the Internet Consumer Industry to shift the capital and talent from Consumer Internet to hard techs like Semiconductors and Artificial Intelligence. Read it here.
Why China Is Attacking Its Consumer Internet Companies: Through this post, Nitin Pai also tried to ponder over the reason behind this crackdown by the Chinese government. He also talks about the Noah Smith post and argues that in some aspects, Noah is wrong about the Chinese Government. He argues that the Chinese are targeting these companies to get hold of the narrative power. Read it here.
Fintech, Edtech, and China: Anand Nageswaran also took notice of this issue and wrote on his blog. This is fun because he talks about Noah's article and Nitin Pai's article. He discusses both the article and then he put forwards his own opinion as well. Through this blog post, you can make more sense out of Noah's and Nitin's posts. Read it here.
